Turncoat converts to what?

The convert for Turncoat is to an Evil Character correct?  And it would have to be either crimson or brown, but not both?

Yes, the convert is to an EC. And the convert can be any single evil brigade, not just crimson or brown.

So only if a convert ability specifies a brigade do you have to convert to that brigade?  Otherwise you can convert to any brigade?
