In type 1, 2player, When a player gets a bye, Whats the lost soul score for that player? I received the bye in the 2nd to last round (2nd round).
We must be the change we want to see.

unfortunately ALex is correct, but I believe it should be 3 points and a +1 for a by you were forced to take...afterall if you had won the game, that would be the minimum amount tha t you would have had to win.

I really hate byes because they punish you in the LS differential so much.

Lets face it byes hurt the experienced players and help the newer players. I think it should be an unwritted rule that experienced players are immune to the first round bye. Just like the unwritten rule that in the first round of tournament you try not to pair up brothers and sisters/ people from the same playgroup (at major tournaments). It just isn't right to give a player, who has worked ten times more on his deck than a newer player, and has ten times more potential to place in the tournament. Especially when tournaments are so few and far between. The bye, in combination with the draw factor, is the main reason I refuse to spend hours working on my deck anymore. It just isn't worth it, imo. Although I think the less offending solution, and probably a more beneficial solution, would be to increase the lost soul differential awarded to those sentenced to a bye.

I think it's fair.  Let's face it, what do you do when you get a by...NOTHING.  We should be happy we're given 3 points and not nothing at all.  :P

For players like me, that's actually the most annoying part. I don't go to tourneys to sit around and not even be able to watch. I'd much rather be playing.

thats for mtg, where byes are actually great because there is no mtg equivalent of a lost soul differential.

in most redemption tournaments im in, its the shortest rounds possible (which i hate) like 4 rounds. and the winner is usually someone who didnt lose one game...this could really help in that case.

Byes can't be quite as good as a win, or people would arrive late to a tournament to have a head start, as their first game is already a win.  Byes were 3 (+3) at one point, and it was sometimes too big of a lead to overcome.  They sometimes almost gave a player the win if the day's games were close ones with a small turnout.

The thing with the bie, is that it had to be done due to the lack of participants. There was an odd amount of players and someone would always be left without an opponent. Not to mention there was a draw during 1 of the rounds so the bie really made everything much more complicated.

Next time I gotta drill it into the brain of the host or when this person co-hosts a simple solution is just to run it round-robin style so no one will get a bie.

Imo, bye for being late, 3 points, -1 for every round you missed after the first, capped at 2, no differential. Bye for not having enough people, 3 points, LS differential equal to the highest differential that round.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

IMO, if you arrive late they should roll a 6 sided die. Whatever number is rolled is the amount of points you get, and 6-(number) is the differential you get. Then things could actually be INTERESTING.

If anything, the late arrival should be penalized, not rewarded....
