Was there a change to Rescuer's Choice?  The 10th Anniversary rulebook says the choice happens before the rescue attempt, and it's not addressed in the 4th Edition.

I think there was a discussion about changing the timing due to cards like Seeker of the Lost, Woman at the Well, etc., but can't find proof of that, or if it resulted in any change.

Yeah being a part of the game where that question arose I am really curious to find out. The way rescuers choice seems to be worded via the 10th anniversary rulebook it gives me alot more questions. Like does that mean joshua son of Nun can't attempt a rescue if the only available lost soul is in a site and he technically doesn't have access until after he takes that site? What about a non tc site access hero in a similar situation? The only way it has access to the site is after its in battle so could it not attempt a rescue as well if the only soul is in a site that isn't it's brigade? Sorry if that's a bit off topic but I feel those questions are all relevant to when the timing of when rescuers choice occurs and when the abilities of heros entering battle as well as abilities triggered by them entering battle occur.

I'm fairly certain that there was a ruling a while ago that resulted in your being able to select the lost soul to rescue after the ability of the hero completed. I have no idea where to find the official ruling though.

well that would allow Barnabas to rescue the lost soul he searched for in t2 which i'm pretty sure he can not do

The original post is about this. Just trying to find an official ruling on the timing to clarify matters like this.

As far as I'm aware we have never been able to select a "generated" LS to rescue in T2. The LS must be available prior to the first Hero entering battle.

AFAIK, this isn't an issue - you can choose a LS you don't have access to, you just have to gain access at the beginning of the battle or your opponent can just decline the battle challenge.  But you can't choose a LS that isn't on the table.

That's good enough for me, and what we went with.  I just thought that may have changed in recent years with the influx of cards that pull them out.

Hm. I guess I was wrong. I really thought that there was some ruling that let you access a generated soul in T2.
