Angel's Sword vs. Horses

If an angel equipped with Angel's Sword is blocked by an EC holding any sort of horses, who plays first?  I know play next is CBI, but REG doesn't say if AS is play next.

Play first is now play next.

Horses activates before AS can trigger, as its mixed in with the ECs ability.

Correct. I was the one who pointed out that if you had horses on Assyrian Archer, the old rules would mean angels Sword kicked in before archer could even band, which made no sense.
