Title: Throne of David drawing ability
Post by: Jmbeers on February 23, 2012, 01:16:57 PM
I wonder about how the drawing ability on tToD would apply in theses 2 situations

1. What happens if an opponent blocks with a rainbow evil character?

2. And the more common sinarieo, what happens when you choose the blocker with amazing and it is a brigade that your opponent dosen't have in play

The Throne of David: When your purple brigade King is blocked, if no Evil Character in battle has a weapon, you may draw X cards and play an O.T. purple brigade Enhancement. (X=The number of evil brigades your opponent has in play)

1.) You draw seven cards.  Your opponent doesn't even need to block with Self, just have it in play.

2.) It still counts as having in play.

"Has in play" is synonymous with "control" so whatever character(s) is on your opponent's side of the battle is included in Throne's brigade check.

Step 1: Play a Samuel deck
Step 2: Play Self and copy David or King Saul
Step 3: Choose him to block with TToD up
Step 4: Profit!

Here's a question, do placed enhancements count towards the brigade count, or is it only character brigades?

Yes. Your Image of Jealousy on my fortress is still under your control, and counts as brown brigade for anything that counts that (such as Throne of David)

I think I know what you're getting at, but I just want to reaffirm. If I have Image of Jealousy in my opponent's territory, that brown would not count towards my Throne of David. However, it would count towards your Throne of David. I'm pretty sure that's how it is, I'm just double-checking to make sure that that's what you're saying.

Yeah, what you said is correct. Sorry for the confusion.

Unless it's placed on TToD, in which case I'm just belaboring the question.
