If I use one of the new angels to exchange for a judge in Judge's Seat...what happens? Can I take the angel out of Judge's Seat?

I certainly do not. If I were to guess, I would say that the hold ability would check at some point for you to add or remove a judge in prep phase.

Let me just start asking some questions and see what when end up with:

Can I place a human in Tartaros? What happens if i create the circumstance? Its a hold ability. It can only hold certain cards. Can I place a demon in Storehouse (besides defening spirit, we wont go there). If there are restrictions to what a card can hold, can there be a legal exchange? Is it a legal target?Does the angel get kicked out? Is it stuck forever unless an ability can let it to escape? That sounds like the most logical answer except that the card cant hold the angel however the holds ability is circumvented by another ability creating the situation.

I would rule the angel would stay in Judges Seat (unless some ability removed the angel). I would also rule that a judge could still be placed in and taken out of the fortress while the angel remained.

This question came up during testing when we added territory to part of the exchange ability. My assumption is that since Judge's Seat cannot hold a silver Hero the angel would go to it's default location, territory.

so any other situation where a card exchanges for another card into a non-legal place will go where?

so any other situation where a card exchanges for another card into a non-legal place will go where?

The default location for that card. This lines up with other examples you might already be familiar with:

I band to your Philistine Armorbearer. I use his ability to search my deck for a Philistine. Your cards are never put into my deck so the Armorbearer is shuffled into your deck.

If I have your Great Faith because of Gleaning the Fields or Taking Egypt's Wealth, and I play it in battle, it does not go into my deck, it goes to yours.

There was a time when people tried to say that Ithamar, son of Aaron could activate any Artifact into the Tabernacle. Rob accurately ruled that The Tabernacle can only hold a Tabernacle Artifact based on it's identifier.
