There are no Mulligans in Redemption

The process of shuffling one's deck, allowing the opponent to cut and drawing your opening hand is covered on pp 5-6 of the 4th Edition Rulebook.  Even so, apparently there has been some recent confusion about it by at least one player.  So, allow me to restate the rules:

-Once players have been matched, they may begin shuffling their decks. Once a player has finished shuffling, the opponent may give the deck a cut or the opponent may request to shuffle the deck as well. If the opponent decides to shuffle the deck, the player may then give his own deck a cut after the opponent is done shuffling. Throughout the course of the game whenever a deck is shuffled, the shuffling player must give the opponent(s) an opportunity to cut the deck (though the opponent(s) may decline if they so choose).

-Once shuffling is complete, the judge will announce the start of the round and players may draw their opening hand. Players may not draw any cards until the judge makes the announcement that time has begun.

With respect to tournament play, if a player draws cards prior to the start of the round, looks at his cards and then reshuffles his deck, that player shall forfeit that game 0-5.

I'm trying to catch up on the current rule state.  I thought I remembered the mulligans DID become official at one point.  Did they exist briefly and then get banned (thus Rob's post here).  Or is this an old post and the mulligan rules changed AFTER this post?

Can someone help?

Mulligans were tested in ROOT (rip) if I remember correctly, but never officially implemented.

Hey Mark! Long time no see! Rob’s above post still stands as the current rule regarding mulligans.

Will we see you at Nats?

Yeah, it's been a while.  But I'm hoping that hosting the AR State tournament will kick off another season of Redemption in my life :)

I can't be at Nats this year as my family is going on a multi-week "Out West" trip and dropping off my oldest kid at college for the first time.  But hopefully another year, I'll be able to be back.

Redemption has never legally had mulligans. Rumor has it that a player was adamant that we did during a regional tournament and thus Rob's post.

We do have Moses (PoC) though...  ::)
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Thanks for the background.  I guess I was just remembering the ROOT experiment.  We just had a really fun AR state tourney, and I think I might be starting playgroup #3.  If so, I'll probably be back around here on the forum again more often.  It'll be good to chat with y'all more often again :)
