Is King David considered to be "David" for purposes of cards like Samuel, Abigail, and Unified kingdom?

This question has been asked several times recently.

King David is David

But David is not King David

So If a card references David it works for both, if a card references King David it only applies to King David.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

But a card that targets a King can still target David. The ruling is that when "King David" is specifically mentioned it's referencing that card specifically. That's how it was explained to me over the Promised Land ruling, at least.

King David is the future version of David so if the card is just David he is not a King.

That's just my opinion though, I'd wait for some confirmation on this post.

You are wrong, so there's that confirmation. Identifiers don't change when you change the name of the card.

Which is strange because his first post was correct...

This is something that has always bothered me, David is a "King"  but he is not "King" David.  To me it seems like a unecessary distinction to make.  The only card that I know of where it even matters is promised land.  Allowing David to use Promised Land unlimitedly would hurt the game how?  We already give unlimited site access to much stringer offense than green or red.  Why are we continuing this foolish ruling?
In AMERICA!!
