Negate means to interrupt and prevent. I understand that's it's not one or the other. Maybe this will help. Here are some quotes from the REG http://www.redemptionreg.com/REG/Interrupt is used to stop another card’s special ability until the special ability on the interrupt card is completed (see Interrupt in the glossary). An “interrupt” goes back in time and suspends something that has already happened. Negate is a combination of “interrupt” and “prevent”, where “prevent” is a special ability described in more detail elsewhere (see Prevent). The “prevent” stops something from happening now or in the future. Together, they stop past, present, and future special abilities on targeted cards.Prevent is a special ability used to preempt (stop) another card’s special ability. In order for a prevent card to stop the special ability of another card, it must be played before that card. A prevent card is unlike interrupt and negate cards because it cannot undo a special ability on a card that has already been played. Prevent takes precedent over “interrupt” when the prevent is played first. (For example, Captain of the Host (Wa) says that all special abilities except for banding are interrupted and prevented. If he is blocked by King of Tyrus (Wa), whose special ability negates all abilities, Captain of the Host (Wa)s special ability is not negated since it is already preventing King of Tyrus (Wa) special ability). This ability stops things that have not yet happened. It cannot undo things that have already happened.
Rendering The Trap of the Devil useless. perfect. Thank you.
Quote from: theselfevident on August 07, 2011, 01:46:45 PMRendering The Trap of the Devil useless. perfect. Thank you.Realize that many cards were created to counter other cards or strategies that seemed OP. Trap of the Devil was meant to stop the Warriors Captain of the Host banding chain, and the simple yet effective Covenant of Moses on Moses.
Again, a negate played before other cards is a "prevent." A negate played after other cards is an "interrupt."
I see, but still pretty much useless in today's redemption.
Quote from: theselfevident on August 07, 2011, 01:57:41 PMI see, but still pretty much useless in today's redemption. Those combos are still effective, in spite of the increase in CBN cards. I've actually seen more CBI cards lately, which those combos still stop. Plus, the popular CBN cards like Wonders Forgotten would not work often since the numbers would be too great. Moses with his Covenant is a 22 attack.

Correct, but people use it because its 7/03, so you have 8/8 + 14/06 = 22/814 FBTN.
I believe Name on Name Bonus is a default rule now. Not entirely sure, but I think I remember hearing that.
