Ehud vs. Herod's Treachery

Scenario:  I have Ehud in territory, my opponent has a Herod with Herod's Treachery placed on it.  I attack with Ehud and choose that Herod to block.  I have Angel of the Lord/Grapes in my hand that I want to play immediately.  Can I play one of these, or can my opponent discard Herod's Treachery first?  Ehud forced the Herod into battle, so am I "responding to my own action" when I play AotL or Grapes?

Ehud (RA)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 7 / 4 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: Interrupt Wall of Protection and choose a male Evil Character from opponent's territory to block. Ehud has first strike.

Herod’s Treachery (TP)

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Place on a Herod. That Herod may use evil Enhancements regardless of brigade. You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle.

I think it depends on who reacts first, at least that is the way I play it. If you put down the dominant first, then his Herod's Treachery wouln't work before your dominant. If he discards Herod's Treachery first, then you can't play your dominant. Herod's Treachery is an ongoing special ability that has an ongoing effect unlike character special abilities that have to be worked out first before any enhancement/dominant is played. I do believe the card says, "...at any time during battle, you may discard this card to force X heros back to their territory."

I would say he gets the chance to use Herod's Treachery first.

The person responding to his own action goes first. However, due to a game mechanics quirk, that person is actually the blocker. Even when an opponent's SA is what brings a character into battle in a CTB or side-battle situation, it's still considered to have been his play.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I agree. Which is why even when you CtB, the Hero still gets to play first in case of a tie (MD/Stalemate) because the person who is blocking "played" the last card. So assuming that the blocker wanted to use HT immediately, he should be allowed to.
