So, The Fallen Angel is in the pit. I ra Ehud, (with 3 nails up) choose Fallen angel. Is ehud now winning the battle?

I do not believe Ehud can choose Fallen Angel. Characters can only enter and leave a fortress based on

1) game rule
2) special ability/identifier on the fortress
3) another special ability explicitly targets the fortress

Of course, that's just "winging it".

When I get a chance I'll have to go research the REG.

All angels and demons are considered male by default. I believe the only two non-human females are Arianna and Kira from Angel Wars.

I believe that Ehud would be winning in this scenario.

Based on the two bolded phrases, I don't think Ehud can pick a character in the Pit to block. The Pit is not in territory (or else you wouldn't need to return the character to territory) and Ehud can only pick and EC in a territory.

Goog question. I don't see why it wouldn't be in territory, but just by the wording of the card it appears not to be....

Um, MJB, Jeopardy! has changed since you were a kid. There are no $500 questions in Jeopardy!

Also, Spirit of Doubt is considered female as well, since the picture has Cubus on it.

But I wasn't actually answering a jeopardy question, I was providing some additional information as Trebek often does.

And MJB couldn't ask for Non-human females for $500. He could wager $500 if it was Final Jeopardy, but in that case he wouldn't be able to choose the category. Maybe $500 questions were around when he was a kid, but I don't know. That was a long time ago.

Not really. You need a S.a. to put cards anywhere but territory (inside forts)

I have always played this is legal. I stumbled upon this last season. You can band to characters out of fortresses that have no protection otherwise, so this should work. In the same manner, I could play Dissuading Speech or Sarah's Jealousy and choose Ehud from Judge's Seat to make a rescue attempt.

And yes, Three Nails' ignore ability kicks in and Ehud is winning.

I would think that you wouldn't even be able to target Fallen Angel for Ehud's effect since Three Nails stops him from being able to block before Ehud enters battle and tries to pull him in. Though, I suppose it depends on what kind of effect Three Nails has.

Three Nails is negated while fallen angel is in the pit, so I am not sure that it matters what kind of ability 3 nails is. Good play I believe it works that way.

But that's not how the rules/REG are currently written. I'm not saying that I don't want to be able to band to unprotected characters in fortresses, BUT the rules better allow for it. Currently they do not.

Why not? The fortress is in play and territory, and there is no protection from effect clause. What you can't do is take a character out of a Fortress to block during battle phase, or put him in your general territory during discard phase. Other abilities can bring them out. Special abilities often override game rules, and characters in unprotected Fortresses are legal targets for banding cards or Ehud.

Hey,

As far as the original question, Ehud can choose Fallen Angel out of The Pit which would result in the initial state of battle being the hero winning by ignore (unless of course Fallen Angel was the Crimson fallen angel who banded to Leviathan).

As far as characters moving in and out of fortresses; a character can only enter a fortress according to a place or ability (or apparently now according to a game rule associated with the "holds" identifier, still not sure how exactly that one works), a character can exit a fortress (and return to the general territory) as per the return ability on the fortress (or again, the whole "holds" identifier thing).

A character in a fortress is still eligible to be used for any game action or targeted by any special ability unless the fortress (or some other card) protects it. You can band to a character in Judge's Seat, you can block with a character in The Pit.

Which means you could activate your own Three Nails, place an Evil Character in your own The Pit, then block with the demon out of The Pit making him immediately ignored significantly increasing the odds of you getting initiative.
