I want to make sure I understand how healing works. My opponent activated New Covenant [At any time, you may place this card beneath your deck to heal all N.T. Heroes...] as an artifact. I played Wrath of Satan. All heroes (including those in battle) are now on their way to the discard pile. So I believe they can be healed now. So if my opponent places New Covenant beneath his deck at this moment, does it cause his NT heroes to go to his territory instead of to the discard pile (and mine also)? I think the answer is yes.

Yes, and the key is they go to territory - don't let anyone tell you they stay in battle. :)
