I was wondering is thaddeus' SA play like a immune ability or a protect ability, but how would you play a card thats "protected from an EC" would it be like immunity?
Thaddeus (Di)
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 8 / 8 • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect all cards in play, set-aside area, Artifact piles, hands, and decks from Evil Characters with toughness X or less. Cannot be interrupted. • Identifiers: NT Male Human, Disciple • Verse: Matthew 10:2-3 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

It is not played like an immune ability.
EX: You make a RA with Thaddeus. Opponent blocks with leviathin. You have initiative. Then you die if you dont have anything to back him up with.
- I think. :P

Protect means "can't be the Target of abilities." Immune is more akin to MC Hammer: can't touch this.
-
Protect means "can't be the Target of abilities." That means that any special ability the EC uses cant target cards in play, set-aside area, Artifact piles, hands, or decks. The only exception due to game rule is that the EC can target himself because a character cant be protected or immune from himself. This is why immunity aka Red Dragon works.

And Rick James is a negate. ;)

Does that make Rick Astley a withdraw?

No...he's never gonna leave you...that would make him a CBN band... ::)

Either that or he's an evil character with "No Lost Souls may be rescued while Rick Astley is in play because he's never gonna give them up. CBN." ;)

Hm so I didn't know that red dragon's immunity worked Vs Thad...good to know...can 5/6 red dragon's enhancements work as well even if Thad is "protecting against 11 tuffness EC's?" Or is that effectively negated as usual?
-
Enhancements used by RD would still be protected against by Thad.
-
Just to clarify, in the situation with a Thaddeus protecting against <=11 vs. a Red Dragon immune to humans, the current status of the battle is a stalemate, right?
-
Correct. Thad can't beat immune, and RD can't beat Thad via numbers.

That's what I thought, thanks!

Would negates on RD still work to negate anything played on Thad to keep RD in battle?
-
As far as I know, yes. You can't protect from negate.
