Title: Temple of Dagon vs Desecrate the Temple
Post by: Redoubter on February 23, 2013, 06:16:43 PM
Desecrate the Temple   3/3   II Kings 25:13-15   Crimson   EE   If used by a Babylonian, discard an Artifact, Temple or good Dominant in opponent's territory. If there are none, discard one from opponent's deck instead.

Temple of Dagon   -   I Samuel 5:2   Multi   F   Protect Philistine Evil Characters in your territory from capture. [Holds one active Alter of Dagon]

Alright, Desecrate does not specify Temple.  In addition, "Temple" is not defined in the REG, so we do not know if that term is specific to "the good temples".

Can Desecrate blow up Temple of Dagon, as it is a Temple?

Since it is in the name I would say yes. There were temples for other gods too.

That is how I ruled it at the tournament yesterday when this came up, but it's one of those things I have to verify afterwards ;)

Thanks :)
