Is Obed-Edom the Gittite considered a Tabernacle Priest?

He's not listed as one in the REG. And based upon him being a Gittite and not a Levite then biblically he's not.

Gittite doesn't refer to his heritage, it is likely from his native home. According to 1 Chronicles 15 Obed-edom is actually a Levite. As for the REG, there are tons of incomplete lists so him not being there doesn't mean much.

Nice catch. I looked him up and he's from the region of Gath, hence him being a Gittite, as you mentioned. I was thinking Gittite as in Canaanite, Hittite, Amalekite, etc which would mean they are not Levites but are a completely separate ethnic group than Israelites.

Hey now...  :P We've actually made a concerted effort over the past year to update lists of identifiers and such in the REG. If you know of lists that are incomplete, please let us know, but also keep in mind that some things you think may be missing are ones we've discussed and decided not to include.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I actually just checked a couple ones I remembered missing in the past and they all seem to be fixed now. I take back what I said.

While we're on this topic about what is and isn't in the REG I've had this question I've been meaning to ask. Concerning The Serpent (promo), is it considered an animal only or also a demon? The identifier says it's an animal but doesn't say demon, yet it runs orange brigade. The REG doesn't classify it as a demon but as animal, but scripturally it is referred to as an animal but the devil is also referred to as the serpent. I'm wondering for identification sake for cards that target demons, band to a demon, etc.

Thanks

I think Orange can be used as 1 of 2+ brigades to represent possession (see Damsel with Spirit of Divination, or other PG/Orange Magicians), so he's just an animal, not a demon.

Good point about possession.  I understand Damsel being PG/ong but I didn't think about the same logic concerning the serpent.

Thanks.

You'll never find a mono orange character that's not a demon. However orange brigade, as one of multiple (as Aggie said) on a character/enhancement, is used to represent connection with demons or relation to demons (whether possession or not). I don't believe The Serpent is a demon but obviously it has connection with demons so it was given orange brigade.

In my defense, neither of those are characters at face value....

For the record, unless it has changed, a character in animal form that is also a Demon is classified as a Beast, not an Animal. Animals are non-demonic by definition.

So for the purposes of the game is The Serpent a beast (Satan manifested as a serpent) or just a possessed animal, like the herd of swine?

I would say an animal, because all of the other "beasts" were not real creatures, but used in prophesy to convey a message.
