Title: Stronghold in the desert getting crowded!
Post by: Scoobug on May 03, 2013, 01:02:08 PM
I have two questions.

1. If I have stronghold in the desert out and I have lets say 8 characters in play that it can hold, is it ok if I just leave the characters in my normal territory and use counters or something to show which characters are in the fortress? That way I don't have to make a big stack of characters that me and my opponent are constantly looking through.

2. If I have 2 or 3 fortresses in play am I allowed to move them so that they aren't on top of each other, and if so where would I put them?

I would say card placement doesn't matter so long as you and your opponent both understand what you are doing.

Good to know I was just wondering if there was a rule about it, thanks!

In general, I would agree that they don't have to be IN the fort as long as everyone knows where they are.  I would suggest having a more wide-open space in your territory just for that fort and its occupants.  I do similar things with Boat when I move people in and out before playing a set-aside.  So long as everyone knows where everything is and there's no confusion, there is no problem :)  Especially since there is no real 'rule' on how to set up ;)  You just can't intentionally deceive or hide.
