I've got a couple quick questions.

Can I use Spy to look at cards face down in The Darkness?  I've always thought that I could, but I want to double check.  My next question depends on a positive answer to this question.

Spy
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Red • Ability: 3 / 2 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: Holder may look at one opponent's hand or cards face down in a Site. Hero may then withdraw from battle unharmed or continue the battle.

Then...  can I use Rahab to rescue a hero that is being held captive in Raiders' Camp?

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Red • Ability: 4 / 5 • Class: None • Special Ability: Character may attempt to rescue any Hero that is being held captive in any opponent's Sites or general Land of Bondage.

My reasoning is that if Spy can look at the contents of a fortress site, then Rahab should be able to rescue the contents of a fortress site.  I would like to also point out the definition of "Held Captive" from the REG.

Capture - Capture takes place when one card takes another card prisoner to a Land of Bondage or to a fortress.

i would rule both as no bcuz they aren't sites,but that's just me

I'm surprised Rahab doesn't have a play as by now. I think it just means Rahab has access to sites with captured heroes in them. This raises the question, what if you have a captured hero among many other souls in Babylonian Banquet Hall?

If I interpreted Rahab wrong, then yes I would imagine that hero is quite useless.

Rahab says that you may "attempt to rescue" which means a Rescue Attempt. If the site were not Rahab's brigade, then Rahab would not have access to make a Rescue Attempt at that site. The card seems to clearly give site access to any site that is holding a captured hero.

Spy was printed after Fortresses were given specific icons that delineated them from sites. I agree with those who have said Spy can not look at the cards in a fortress. I also agree that Rahab can not attempt to rescue a captured hero in Raider's Camp, since RC is not a site and is not in the Land of Bondage.

true. it says she can only make a rescue attempt for a captured hero in a site. it is a restriction. if there is another lost soul in the same site as a captured hero, i would say rahab does not have access to it.

the card does not grant site access. it just says which lost souls she is able to rescue.

Explain the last half of the ability though. Why does it need to specify that it can rescue a captured hero from the general land of bondage? If it was clarifying text, it would have received a play-as.

Because no one uses the card so there was no reason to give it a play as I would guess

I agree with a Play As being warranted (who knows, maybe Rahab will be used someday). Though I'm not completely sure how it would be worded because of the question Lambo brought up with multiple Lost Souls in a site, including one captured Hero. Should she have access to the other LS's as well?

Here's a first try (feel free to suggest improvements):

Play As: Rahab has access to any Site where a captured Hero is held prisoner. If no hero in battle has other access to such a Site, protect any Lost Souls that are not captured Heroes from rescue by Heroes.

Except that would be an errata (changing the card's ability) instead of a Play As (clarifying how the ability should be worded).
