Title: Speed Bump with Son of God

12 card hand including SoG and NJ.
Speed Bump in play (along with lots of other lost souls)
Do they work?

My thinking is yes they do, but I am not sure.
Nothing stops you from playing them. Just like you can play Falling Away with no redeemed souls in play to get cards out of your hand, you could play SoG and NJ even though there is no legal target.
Once they are actually on the table, then you declare the target. At that point, since you have only 10 cards in hand, you may rescue some lost souls.

Is that right?
