If my Hero in the main battle is targeted for removal by a card in a side-battle, can I interrupt that card with a Good interrupt?

I believe not, which is why most side battle cards nowadays prevent SA's of cards in the side battle (Visions, Sing and Praise, etc.).

Depending on what type of removal you are talking about, here are some specific examples from the REG:

Instant Abilities > Fight Each Other > Special Conditions

•      Playing Death of Unrighteous in a side battle between two Evil Characters can only be interrupted by the opposing player’s Evil Character in the side battle.  The Evil Character on whom the card was played cannot interrupt his own removal from battle.  The Hero in the original battle never gains initiative and cannot interrupt Death of Unrighteous.

•      If Achan’s Sin is played in a side battle between Evil Characters, the opposing player’s Evil Character gets a chance to negate Achan’s Sin.  However, Achan’s Sin only removes characters from the side battle.  The Hero in the original battle can do nothing.

I believe he's referring to a situation where one of the EC's in a side battle plays a "discard/capture/remove a Hero in play" card, and targets the rescuing hero. I know this has come up many times before, but this is one thing I can't quite remember about side battles.

Until the side battle is completed you cannot play any enhancements on characters in the main battle.  Anything that happens in a side battle is an indirect result of the side battle card, so if your hero is removed in the side battle, the card that caused the side battle can be thought of as the card that is causing the removal so your hero gets initiative to negate it (after the side battle ends) in the same way it would if the card that removed the hero was played in the main battle instead of the side battle card.

Woah...that's just woah. I'm not saying I disagree with it, but it sounds so radical that I hope Schaef or someone else argues with you for five pages about it so I can understand exactly what's going on if that's the ruling.

Dude, yes, I love the 20 page threads going in circles about rulings, especially when halfway through the opponents realize (at the same time) that they agree with the other side. And then they switch and argue for ten more pages. For what its worth I agree with Tim.

But if I negate the Side Battle Card doesn't that mean that all Characters and enhancements go back where they were before the battle began?  So I could save my interrupts for the main battle and negate the side battle there, right?

In the situation that spawned the question, it was my own Sword of the Lord that caused the side-battle I got targeted in.
