If my teammate plays SoG, is my Simeon still protected from discard?  Also, what if he bands to Simeon?

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Green • Ability: 7 / 6 • Class: None • Special Ability: If you have not played Son of God this game, protect Simeon from discard. May band to a N.T. prophet. Cannot be negated by an evil card. • Identifiers: NT Male Human, Prophet • Verse: Luke 2:25 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

Yes  :). The Guardian and I discovered this nice little loophole in a recent TEAMS tourney...

Simeon can never band to Simeon. Even though Simeon is an NT Prophet, you can never bring a character into battle that's already there in some form (so a Gathered TSA cannot band to another TSA, etc.).

Kerith Ravine would be a nice loophole in teams, but it doesn't work....

...not if a Simeon is already in battle....but that may not have been what you meant....

Ah, I see what you're saying. Simeon is read from the perspective of the person who controls him. So if you are controlling a Simeon, and you have played SoG already, he can be discarded, no matter who owns him. If you are controlling a Simeon and have not played SoG, then he is protected, no matter who owns him or whether they have played SoG or not.
