SoG vs Burial: Review

SoG:  "Rescue any Lost Soul in play."
Burial:  "Discard any Lost Soul in play."

If I use SoG on an opponent's lone LS and he uses Burial on it (both do the action almost simultaneously with SoG doing first move), is a LS rescued or has the rescue attempt failed?

It depends on which card hit the table first. If they were too close to tell then it is up to the judge.

The 40+ year old would have pointed behind the younger player and said, "What in the world could that be?" before placing their dominant on the table (with deteriotating reflexes).

P.S. This sentence took me five minutes to type and my hands are cramping now.

There needs to be a senior circuit...All tournament fees should have a tax....like social security which supports medication for cramps.

Turning 45 this year has, at least, made me worry a little bit less ---- 'coz I now have a better sense of forgetfulness and absent-mindedness.   ::)

If it is a situation where both players try to play their dominant as soon as the lost soul was drawn, then the person that drew the lost soul would get the initiative for their dominant's special abilities to take effect. So in the given situation Burial would trump Son of God and take effect first. I base this on the fact that the player that drew the lost soul is the person that provided a legal target, triggering Burial and SoG ability.

I believe the general rule of thumb (to eliminate slapjack) is that whoever created the opportunity to play dominants get the first chance to respond to that opportunity.  Like the player who drew the lost soul gets first response, the person who played harvest time gets first response, etc.
