basic gameplay questions for a beginner
« on: October 25, 2012, 10:20:27 PM »

I have read the rule book, tried to play a few games(with another newbie) and am confused.
Question 1-how many times during battle phase caneach player play an enhancement.
Q-2 can heros/evil characters only band if first hero/evil character special ability says so?
Q-3 when detedminating initiative or outcome of battle I am confused . when hero is 6/7 and evil is7/7 and vise versa evil has6/7 and hero has7/7. What is the outcome?  is there a difference? Please explain.
Thank you for your patience. Hope I posted this in the correct place

Hi niksag and welcome to the forum :)

1 - you can play as many enhancements as you like assuming a lot of things (that you have initiative to play them, that they are the same brigade as your hero/s in battle, etc.)

2 - Yes, the character who has the banding ability must enter battle before the character they band to.

3 - If a hero is 6/7 vs. an evil character who is 7/7 then the initiative would belong to the hero because they would be losing (the ECs attack of 7 is killing their defense of 7, but the hero's attack of 6 is NOT killing the ECs defense of 7)

If a hero is 7/7 vs. an EC who is 6/7, then the initiative would belong to the EC because they would be losing for the same reason.

Just to add to your thinking...
If a hero and EC are both 7/7 so that both are dying in mutual destruction, the hero gets initiative because heroes naturally get initiative when it is a tossup like that.

Thank you for your elaboration.
just to clarify. If I played a hero with 4/5 and as blocked by an e/c with 9/9 I would have initiative then i could play an enhancment of the same birgade as the hero with a 2/2. Would I then still have initiative? Or could I have played an enhancement of The same brigade with a 6/6 (I don't know if this even exists just an example). then initiative would go to opponent who played e/c supposing. He then played enhancement of same birgade with 3/3 can initiative. Go back to player who played the hero and an enhancment already. Is there a limit?
Thanks

Scenario one:   4/5 hero is 6/7 after the enhancement.  The hero still has initiative to play another enhancement against a 9/9 EC.

Scenario two: 4/5 hero is 10/11 after 6/6 enhancement.  The evil character would get initiative to play an enhancement.

Scenario three: the now 10/11 hero is facing the 12/12 evil character (after the 3/3 evil enhancement).  The hero does have initiative to play another enhancement.

The answer to your basic question.  There is technically no limit to the playing of enhancement by either side while trying to win a battle.
Your only limitations exist in the number of available enhancements that you have in your hand or by brigade color.
