Side Battles Strike Back

Questions regarding side battles:

Redemption Aggie said:
The side battles would be nested - the battle caused by Sword of the Lord must complete first, then the battle caused by CSA, then the main battle.  The characters are all still in play, and can be effected by card in the ongoing battle.  If one of you played Deceit of Sapphira (Womens, which discards everything in the Field of Battle) in the Sword of the Lord side battle, it would discard all the cards in all 3 battles.

My questions:

→If Deceit of Sapphira is played, would one of the characters in one of the other battles have initiative to interrupt, since they would then be losing?  After all, if one card affects all three battles, it should be the other way around too.

→So what if a dreaded FBN character enters the scene in one of those side-battles?  Does the FBN character affect the other two battles as well?  If so, how does that work?  Does the FBN make all the battles go away?

→Also, is Red Dragon immune to all human heroes when his side battle is not being played out, or can cards like Authority of Peter, when played in another battle, affect Red Dragon?

→Finally, if Potiphar's Wife plays an Evil Spirit to convert a male hero in another battle, does she get to take that hero prisoner?

→Also, since CSA interrupts the battle, does the battle remain interrupted until the side battle is completed?
♦If so, wouldn't that mean immunity in the main battle is interrupted as well?
♦If so, then would an Authority of Peter (used on Fallen Angel) interrupted by Christian Suing Another (CSA) not take effect until after the side battle was completed?
♦If not, what would that mean for the side battle?  Isn't it true that if the enhancement's user is discarded before the enhancement's effect is completed, the enhancement is negated?  So what would happen if the hero who used Authority of Peter was defeated in the battle v the other hero?  Would Authority of Peter be negated and Fallen Angel returned to the field?

Thank you once again for your time,
Ammian

For the Red Dragon question, I think it would depend on how the side battle was started. If you simply played a side battle card via initiative, RD's immunity would still be active. If, however, you played an interrupt the battle card followed by the side battle card, all ongoing abilities from the main battle (including RD's immunity) would still be interrupted for the duration of the side battle.

I disagree with Aggie in regards to Deceit of Sapphira, I believe it would only discard the cards in the battle in which it is played.

Potiphar's Wife + Evil Spirit would not result in a capture. The hero is no longer a hero after ES converts him, so they are not a legal target for PW's ability. In addition, the converted hero is not defeated, they are removed from battle by game rule.

I don't know about the FBTN question, so I will leave that for someone else.

Lastly, you really should post all these question threads in Ruling Questions rather than Redemption Official Rules. :P

I think one of the characters in the other battles could attempt to interrupt it, but it would have to be "interrupt/negate one enhancement in play", since I think most other negates only target cards in the current battle.

Women's Deceit of Sapphira (Discard all cards in the Field of Battle including yours.) would discard all cards in all battles, since that's everything in the Field of Battle.  G Deck Deceit of Sapphira (Discard all cards in battle (including yours). Cannot be prevented by an evil card.) would only discard cards in the battle in which it is played.

According to the REG, FBN effects the entire Field of Battle, so it would end the side battles and make the original battle FBN.

I agree with browarod on this one.  If you don't interrupt it before causing either side battle, it's still active, so he's still immune.

Yes to all.  Except the bolded questions, to which "yes" isn't a legitimate answer, but they're answered by other yeses.

I believe you could also play a "negate last" enhancement.

You are correct. I thought the question was directed in regards to the G deck one, so that's what I based my answer on.

You can only have one side battle per turn.

According to the URCL, most of the "negate last" enhancements specify "current battle", so they couldn't negate DoS in another battle.  Flaming Sword (Warriors) and Mask of Arrogance don't, so they should be able to negate it.

Ring Wraith, this is following up on some of his other questions, in which he asked about a scenario where Player A started a side battle, then Player B started a side battle from that side battle.  Since the rule is 1 side battle per player per turn, that's legal.

whats URCL?

The Ultimate Redemption Card List. It was created by Gil Kimmons, and it can be found at Redemption NE (http://www.freewebs.com/redemptionne/). I don't think it has been updated with Disciples yet, but it sorts cards by name, type, brigade, stats, special ability, rarity, class, identifiers, book, and pretty much every other characteristic of a Redemption card (including prices from major distributors).
