Side battle/interrupt question

I'm having fun with side battle decks again and came across this scenario in a test game.

My green hero has init and plays Sword of the Lord.  I control a black EC who has init in side battle.  I play Warrior's Devourer.  This is my interpretation of what should happen to avoid an endless loop:

- Devourer must complete its SA, so all good enhancements in play are interrupted and discarded.  When SA is complete, side battle never really happened since SotL was interrupted and discarded so ECs return to territory and Devourer is discarded.

Does everyone agree?  Is there another scenario I'm missing?  Perhaps the losing black EC in side battle is discarded rather than return to territory?

Devourer
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Black • Ability: 2 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Interrupt and discard all good enhancements now in play. • Identifiers: OT, Connected with Demons • Verse: Malachi 3:11

Sword of the Lord
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Green • Ability: 2 / 1 • Class: None • Special Ability: Discard Leviathan or cause any two Evil Characters in play to fight each other. • Identifiers: OT, Depicts a Weapon • Verse: Judges 7:18
Final ANB errata: Return player to game.

my understanding is that it would interrupt and discard the SotL and end the side battle, but since cards cannot indirectly negate themselves, such as The Strong Angel negating Jacobs banding, but not his own ability, the side battle would end and all the good enhancements in play would be discarded, and it would return to how it was before the side battle, as if you just negated the card.

ITB only applies to the battle you are in. It would d/c sword of the Lord, but not much else.

Assuming Sword of the Lord was played, side battle happened, then Devourer is played it WOULD interrupt Sword of the Lord. This WOULD make it like the side battle never happened.

I thought that you could only effect cards in your battle(kind of like a default rule). So you could only negate cards in the battle with your black evil character, and sword of the lord cannot be negated unless by a card in the battle where you played sword of the lord. So... I think that it's like Captain of the host. Yes, tequnically, he would negate arts, but the default setting of only targeting cards in your battle limits it to characters and enhancements.

Well if the side battle ended and devourerererer way played it'd make the sidebattle undo.

@Fireninja
You can target things outside your battle. I use side battles to play enh CBN (not much fear of it) to kill heroes in the main battle.

The card says to interrupt and discard all good Enhancements in play.  That applies to every single one in the Field of Play, on either side of the table, and in (unprotected) Fortresses, and placed on other cards.  EVERYthing.

The default rule for the current battle applies to the term "in battle".

As a side note, ITB was mentioned briefly in this thread but Devourer does not have the ability "interrupt the battle".  It specifically targets all good Enhancements.

Yes it does. *quoting from memory* "interrupt the battle and discard all good enhancements in play." I think...

The text on both versions of Devourer say to interrupt and discard Enhancements.  Neither of them say "interrupt the battle".

The exact text of Devourer (WA) is quoted in the first post of this thread.

Are there any other enhancements that say "interrupt" without "the battle" following?

ITB cards also interrupt ongoing abilities (i.e. from characters), whereas Devourer only targets enhancements. This is similar to redirect cards like Counsel of Abigail.
