side battle questions and another question.

1. In a side battle if an evil character blocking a hero plays a side battle enhancement and chooses the rescuing hero and captain (SA negate all except banding) to fight , does the enhancement get negated and the battle goes back to original and it is fbtn battle?

2. If a side battle card says " holder may choose one hero in play to fight the rescuing hero" does this also include any other rescuing heroes that are banded into battle? because the other heroes are also considered part of the "rescuing hero lets say"? and the first hero ability bought other heroes into battle?

3.  If 2 heroes were fighting each other and one of them played an enhancement that says " negate the last evil enhancement played in battle or current battle" does this only mean the current side battle?

4. Also the warriors enhancement card "Flaming sword SA: the effect of the last enhancement card played is interrupted and prevented"
Can this version of this enhancement negate a special ability on another good enhancement in battle?

1. Yes.

2. I am fairly certain that this one is just one of the rescuing heroes.  That is the ability targets "the rescuing hero" that happens to be the one you chose, not implying that it is the only one in battle.  The ability on that character does not reactivate, to my knowledge.

3. Current battle, so it does not touch the one in main battle.
Quote from: The REG
Battle
The phrase ‘in battle’ or ‘current battle’ refers to any cards in the current battle that can be either the primary battle (rescue attempt or battle challenge) or it can refer to a side battle, NOT BOTH. See also Battle Phase. The phrase ‘Field of Battle’ refers to any cards in the Field of Battle including primary battle and side battles.

4. Does not specify its targeting.  Therefore, it negates the last enhancement played, wherever or whatever it is.

2. For question number 2 I might have worded it wrong so I will just reword it again.

For example lets say  Women of Israel started a RA and banded to Deborah and they are blocked by Pharisees (1/3) .

then EC plays idle gossip (SA holder may choose a hero in play to fight the rescuing hero)  Does both Women of Israel and Deborah fight in the side battle or just Women of Israel?

1.
Quote
 If a card with a side battle ability is negated, then all interruptable effects that resulted from cards played during the side
battle are likewise negated.

That quote from the REG suggests that yes, a character that negates enhancements like Captain of the Host would negate the side battle (provided the enhancement that started the side battle isn't CBI or CBN). Because FBTN abilities in side battles affect regular battles, the original battle would then be FBTN.

2.
Quote
 If both of the characters selected to fight were controlled by one of the players in battle, but neither or both of them were in a battle when they were selected, then the player that used the side battle ability decides which player controls which
character in the side battle.

So yes, you can have two rescuing heroes fight each other. However, as far as I know, only one of the original heroes can be on each side, not both.

4. Flaming Sword targets the last enhancement, so it doesn't matter where that enhancement is.

Edit: Darn it, Dayne.

You can have them on both.

Quote from: The REG
How to Play
The two players that were involved in the suspended battle each control one side of the side battle. Determine which player controls which side (character) in the side battle, as follows:
 If both of the characters selected to fight in the side battle were controlled by players other than the two in battle, the player that used the side battle ability decides which player controls which character in the side battle.
 If one of the characters selected to fight was controlled by one of the players in battle, and the other was controlled by a
different player, the one player maintains control of the character they controlled and the other player in battle controls
the other selected character.
If both of the characters selected to fight were controlled by one of the players in battle, but neither or both of them were in a battle when they were selected, then the player that used the side battle ability decides which player controls which
character in the side battle
.
 If both of the characters selected to fight were controlled by one of the players in battle, and one of them was in battle
(but the other wasn't), then the player that controlled the character that was in battle continues to control it, and the
other player controls the other character.

They choose one of the rescuing heroes as "the rescuing hero," though the other is a legal target since it is in play.

Edit: Darn it, Dayne.

The correct phrase is "Dayne it".

You can have them on both.

You misunderstand me. I meant to say that (for instance) if Aaron and Moses are in battle, and my opponent plays a side-battle enhancement, either Aaron or Moses can be on one side, they cannot both be on the same side.

Then we were both correct.  Huzzah and hooray.

1. So if a hero side battle begins (in the example above)  only one rescuing hero (WOI or Deborah) can only be chosen in the side battle while the other hero must stay in the original battle unless the player wants them both to fight??

 2. or must it be the hero who started the rescue (WOI for instance?)

Is this correct?

One of the heroes is chosen by the blocking player.  The rescuing player has no control over it at all.  Any characters not put in side battle remain where they were, including in the main battle (which will resume once the side battle concludes).
