Should there be more Redirect and side battle ability cards made??

Does anyone else think there should be more cards created with special abilities like Redirect , side battles? or will there be?

1. I think there should be more side battle cards made because sometimes it is fun to watch these interesting sides of battles with different characters and it is a different way to successfully block or win a RA other than just do the regular way of battle.

( Cup of Wrath , sword against sword )

I remember when I was at a tournament there was no battle winner enhancement I could play to win the RA , so instead I used (Cup of Wrath) my own evil characters to battle the opponent's , used a remove all card and won the RA.

2. For Redirect  , Instead of completely stopping an opponent's enhancement why not play it and target an opponent's card instead?

Although one thing that may get in the way it could cause more questions to be asked about certain situations though..

Other than that.

any thoughts on these 2 abilities??

No.  Never.  Please for the love of all that is holy.

...side battles?

Are more fun.  They can be complicated to rule sometimes, but I agree that they allow for more strategic shenanigans.

I'd like to see more side battle, but not redirect.  The issue with the latter too is that it can't affect CBI or CBN (redirect inherently interrupts), so to get around some of the more powerful cards, it's not the answer anyway.  What you need is more useful 'instead' abilities, and we are seeing that.  For example, the new Goodness allows you to 'instead' abilities that end the battle, which are ALL inherently CBI with some printed CBN mixed in.  Only way around it at the moment, and that is a good thing.

I like Side battle cards in theory, but they can get really complex to rule, so I don't know if we really need more of them.

I like Redirects (although I think there have been some very weird rulings on how they work due to how the redirects we have were worded). Redoubter has a good point that they are interrupts so they don't work on CBI abilities, but I don't think that just because an ability isn't always useful doesn't mean it can't ever be. We could also have Instead Abilities that essentially do what redirect does.

For Example:
Xerxes's New Order (A reference to the order that Xerxes sent out to counter Haman's Plot)
Place this card in your territory: If an evil card would discard your hero(s), instead discard this card to discard an evil character.
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.

+1

I don't like instead abilities, IMO, too many of them can just get repetitive, and some are just too OP (Solomon's Temple/Herod's Temple)
