An interesting situation came up last night...

Player A Rescues with Samuel. Player B blocks with a Sadducee and plays Joseph in Prison. Player A interrupts with Two Bears and targets the Sadducee to be shuffled. Player B plays Denying Blaim to redirect.

Can player B select Denying Blame itself to be the new target of Two Bears?

Two Bears
If used by a Prophet, interrupt the battle and select one card of each evil brigade in play. Shuffle them into deck.

Denying Blame
Interrupt and redirect the last good enhancement played in battle (play the redirected enhancement as if it were yours, regardless of its brigade color).

That wouldn't work because Sadducees are not prophets.

Redirect chooses a different target, it doesn't actually turn into an evil enhancement to be played on the Sadducee.

I can't think of anything that would disallow that play. Though I'm not 100% sure.

Basically I'm trying to figure out of Denying Blame is even "in play" / "played" to be a valid target until the completion of it's ability (i.e. resolving the new target of Two Bears).

Two Bears is still played by the original player on the prophet. Your Sadducees get to use the numbers from Two Bears and you get to choose new targets to shuffle. Denying Blame can be one of those targets. Here's the Redirect section from the REG.

 Targets must be “in battle.”
