Nazareth questions

Does Nazareth protect decks against any of the following?

Revealer LS - "When you draw this card, each opponent must reveal the top two cards of his draw pile.  Place each revealed Lost Soul in owner’s Land of Bondage.  Place the rest beneath owner’s draw pile."

Wandering Spirit - "Reveal the bottom card of deck. If it is a demon, put it in your territory. May band to a generic demon. If you demon is discarded, place it beneath deck instead. Cannot be negated."

Philistine Outpost - "When you are attacked, you may discard this card or an evil card from deck to search discard pile for a generic Philistine and place it in your territory. Protect Sites from being placed beneath decks."

Amasai the Raider - "Discard an evil Enhancement from opponent's deck or Storehouse."

Nazareth - "Protect cards in your territory and hand from shuffle by an opponent. Protect all decks from search abilities."

Nazareth does not protect from reveal abilities (the first two).  The third and fourth examples you provided have an implied search ability so Nazareth stops them.

In the third example, you can still use the first option of discarding Outpost to search since Nazareth doesn't protect the discard pile.

Yep, and Amasai the Raider can still discard from Storehouse but that's not the part he's asking about. ;)

O_o So...reveal changes the location now? I fail to see how WS is not searching the bottom card for an Evil card, and reveal is the mechanism (like Angry Mob). I'd say that's far more of a "search" ability than Amasi (since most search abilities that we don't assume put a card in play or hand, not Discard them).
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I thought it was ruled that if cards are "revealed" it isn't a search, but if the card just says "look" (such as Susanna or Eve) then it IS a search...  Could be wrong though.

Instant Special Abilities > Search, Reveal, or Exchange
General Description
A search card allows you to look at the cards in a deck, artifact pile, or a player’s hand.  Searching implies only you see the targeted card(s).  Reveal means that all players see the targeted card(s).  Random selection from an opponent’s hand or selecting from your own hand are not considered a search or a reveal. You may not look at cards in any draw pile or discard pile (other than the top card of the discard pile) unless a special ability on a card allows a player to search a deck (see Beginning a Game).

A revealed card is considered to be in the same location from which it is revealed. Revealing a card makes the card visible to all players.

and it sounds like to me with the Outpost ability you have to search the deck before you can discard an evil card...

yes, nazzy stops outpost.

I disagree, Philistine outpost says:

Quote
Philistine Outpost (TP)

Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: When you are attacked, you may discard this card or an evil card from deck to search discard pile for a generic Philistine and place it in your territory. Protect Sites from being placed beneath decks. • Play As: When you are attacked, you may discard this card or an evil card from deck to search discard pile for a generic Philistine and return it in your territory. Protect Sites from being placed beneath decks. • Identifiers: Play to territory. • Verse: I Samuel 14:12 • Availability: Thesaurus ex Preteritus booster packs ()

I can discard my Philistine Outpost without a search, which is implied by the or int he statement "you may discard this card or an evil card from deck".

I fail to see how this:

Quote
Nazareth (Di)

Type: Site • Brigade: Green • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect cards in your territory and hand from shuffle by an opponent. Protect all decks from search abilities. • Identifiers: Jew • Verse: Matthew 13:57 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

Couldn't stop it, it does nothing to stop the discard.

It would just stop the discard of the evil card from your deck, is what I can figure... Philly Outpost searches the discard pile, so Nazzy wouldn't stop the recurring-ness of Phillies through Outpost. So the only way to get a Philly when they have Nazareth up is to discard Outpost.

Like RDT said in his first post nazareth doesn't stop philly outpost's first ability to discard itself it just stops discarding an evil card from deck since you have to serch your deck to find one.
