I know there's a thread about this somewhere but I can't seem to find it so can someone please answer this quick question or direct me to the thread with the answer?
What are the current rules on which Seraphims and Seraphs you can have in your deck and in play?
-
All the Seraphim and Cherubim are Generic (except Seraph w/ a Live Coal... I think) also you cannot have both Seraphim (band to Green) and Seraph w/ a Live Coal because they have the same reference.
For Cherubim, I don't think you can use the old one if you use the new one... But you may want to try to confirm that.

I'm pretty sure that you can have any number of Seraphim (band to blue or green) and Seraphs in play, but only one Seraph w/ Live Coal. I know this has been ruled on before by Prof A, and I'm fairly positive this is what he ruled.

Yes, but Seraphim (band to green) and Seraph w/ a Live Coal are counted as the same Character.... Idk why but that's the rule. You can only have 1 of those per 50 in the Deck.
But yes, Seraphim is generic since its a group, but Seraph w/ a Live Coal is unique.

Link to the correct answer.
Yeah I assumed for Isaiah purposes you could have in play in T2 at the same time:
4 x Seraphim (may band to green) (generic)
1 x Seraph with a Live Coal (unique)
4 x Angel of his Presence (generic)
I thought from an earlier thread Seraph = Seraphim (may band to green), and Seraph with a Live Coal = Seraphim (may band to blue). What was the final elder ruling? If Seraphim (may band to green) is generic, why is Seraph not considered generic when they are considered the same character?
I can affirm that this is what I understand. I'm not certain why Seraph is considered unique.
Seraph and Seraphim are both generic.
A Seraph is an angel (singular). Seraphim are angels (plural). The art depicts only one seraph, so the card got an accurate name. It is still generic.

The question wasn't whether they were generic, but the same card for deckbuilding purposes.

Seraphim (Wa) (band to green) and Seraph (ROA) are the same card for deckbuilding purposes. Seraphim (Wa) (band to blue) and Seraph with a Live Coal are the same card for deck building purposes.

This came up at Natz (in conversation, not in any in-game or deck-check questions that I know of), and was a point of much humor. They were compared to the multiple David variants, but someone rightly pointed out, "none of them are called 'Davids.'"

Seraphim (Wa) (band to green) and Seraph (ROA) are the same card for deckbuilding purposes. Seraphim (Wa) (band to blue) and Seraph with a Live Coal are the same card for deck building purposes.
This is incorrect, Seraphim (band to Green) and Seraph w/ a Live Coal are the same, the rest are not treated as different characters.

You are incorrect. Same reference has nothing to do with it. Please reread the deck building rules:
Duplicates for Deck Building:
1) Character cards with the same title and the same art are considered duplicates for deck building.
2) Character cards with the same title and the same brigade are considered duplicates characters unless they are a generic character and have different art.
