Side battle questions (again?)

Hi all,

maybe this has already been asked and answered:

When a side battle has been initiated Christian Suing Another played on a single Crimson Brigade Character and 2 Heroes of the opponent were chosen to fight each other while player who initiated the side battle has Confusion of Mind active:
  • Do both Heroes in side battle get their SAs negated (if they aren't CBN, CBP) - even though one is now controlled by the side battle initiator?
  • Does the side battle originating crimson character get SI if it is targetted and discarded/removed/underdecked out of side battle by e.g. You are the Christ? If so how does this work out since it is not part of the current active battle? How is the entire situation resolved?
Thank you in advance for clarification (IMHO another example for the vast complexity of Redemption - but still like the game though!

Christian Suing Another: Holder interrupts the battle and chooses a Hero in play to fight the rescuing Hero. The loser is discarded.
Confusion of Mind: Negate all special abilities on opponents’ Heroes. An opponent may discard two good Enhancements (or a good Dominant) from hand to discard this card. Cannot be negated.
You Are the Christ: Discard an evil card.

Quote from: REG
For a card to be considered an "opponent's card", that player must be the owner of the card as well as have control of the card.
Since you are controlling the Hero on your side of the battle, it's ability would not be negated by CoM but the Hero on your opponent's side would be.

No, the EC does not get SI because it is not in the current battle. If the Evil Character is removed from the main battle, then when you return to the main battle it resolves as any other unblocked battle does: if a Hero is in battle, they win barring any Dominant intervention.
