We've already determined that characters that place themselves in a player's Land of Bondage (Servant Girl, Amalekite's Slave, etc) are considered captured characters. (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=14208.0)
Would Blue Tassels protect these characters from their own capture ability? For example, if I have Blue Tassels active can my opponent still place Amalekite's Slave in my Land of Bondage when they block with him?
Blue Tassels
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: No character may be captured. Prevents Unholy Writ. • Play As: All characters are protected from capture. Prevents Unholy Writ.

With only the proof of my gut to back me up, I'm gonna say that although characters that place themselves in LoB are considered captured characters, they do not actually have a capture ability - just a "place in LoB" ability. Thus, I don't think Blue Tassels would stop them....Anyone else have an opinion?

Sure. Global Warming seems awfully cold right now. Oh, you mean about capture....
I've heard divided opinions on this. I think that it would the most simple and consistent ruling to say all abilities that place characters in LoB are capture abilities. So Blue Tassels would stop those characters. However I'm not sure that is the most logical or best ruling.

galadgawyn, thanks for your response. You made me wonder how the REG lists these types of cards. I found that Servant Girl, Malchus, and all their friends are listed as "capture cards" so they've already been classified the way you suggest. It seems pretty clear to me that Blue Tassels would stop them from being self capturing.

I agree that Blue Tassels would stop this.

What about the Hopper?I know it is probably a placement card but it does the same as these characters.
-
It is a lost soul, different than a self-capturing character.
-
I'm leaning towards they are cards with "place in LOB" abilities that are then treated as Capture Heroes, partly because I want to see what killer combo Gabe came up with.... :P ;D ;)

The Hopper is not a captured character, it's a Lost Soul (as DaClock mentioned). You can make someone keep their own Hopper if you have I am Salvation active when they draw it. ;D

Maybe I'm just tired of people giving me their dern Amalekite's Slave so I'm trying to find a way to stop him... ::)

you know after i read this i wonder if these characters can place them selfs in raiders camp?
Raiders’ Camp
Type: Fortress • Play As: If your human Evil Character captures a Hero, place it here. When opponent makes a successful rescue attempt or battle challenge, instead of surrendering a Lost Soul, release all captured Heroes from here back to owner. Does not count as redeemed soul.
Sorry, but that wouldn't work. It would be neat though.
