Lamenting for Jephthah's Daughter + Stillness

I play Lamenting for Jephthah's Daughter in battle and set aside two female heroes who are currently outside of battle.

Then I play Stillness.

Lamenting for Jephthah's Daughter will return to my hand, but will the characters that were set aside still gain the CtB ability after four turns even though Lamenting is no longer placed on them?

If they do still gain the ability, this means that I can reuse Lamenting for Jephthah's Daughter on two more female heroes if I wish, right?

Lamenting for Jephthah's Daughter -
Set aside any two female Heroes from holder's territory for 4 turns to allow each to choose the next Evil Character they will meet in battle.

Stillness -
Hero may withdraw from battle unharmed.  All enhancement cards played may be returned to the player's hand except this one.
Epic pouting maneuver!

Lamenting for JD will not return to your hand. It goes to set aside by default.

+1  Unless they say otherwise, cards only target cards in play.  Lamenting is no longer in play, so it does not return

Hey,

+1  Unless they say otherwise, cards only target cards in play.  Lamenting is no longer in play, so it does not return

If "last enhancement played" satisfies saying otherwise then I don't see why "all enhancement cards played" wouldn't satisfy it as well.

I also found the statement, "If a set aside enhancement is played during battle it remains in battle until the end of battle and then is moved to the set-aside area to join the cards it set aside when other enhancements in battle are discarded."  in my documents but can't figure out where it came from.

This is what the REG says:

Instant Abilities -> Set-Aside ->How to Use

Set-aside cards may be played on any character you control in play with matching brigade.  Set-aside cards remain on the character in the set-aside area until the character is returned to the field of play.  When you set aside your opponent's card during a battle, after the battle you must put the set-aside enhancement with the card you set aside.  The character can return during any preparation phase, unless the set-aside card has a specified endpoint.  The set-aside card is then discarded.

Keeping the enhancement in battle only seems to be true if you set your opponent's card aside. Since this quote says that the card "remains on the character," I don't see how you can have characters set aside without the enhancement.

Personally, I would rule that the set aside card must stay set aside and can not be recurred as is being suggested.

Isn't weather or not the set aside card is set aside right then or after battle irrelevant?  Stillness targets all enhancements played that battle.  If the set aside was played during that battle, it is targeted and returned to hand as Stillness says.

Although not explicitly stated, the impression that I have from the rulebook is that cards cannot remain set aside unless the set-aside card is with them.

YMT is correct for cases where the set aside card is an enhancement.  Set aside abilities on non-enhancements are handled differently than set aside enhancements.
