Title: Saul / Paul
Post by: Crashfach2002 on March 04, 2009, 09:54:56 PM
Say a card is played and says convert a character to a brigade of your choice.  If it is used on Saul does he become a multi color hero or does he become a hero of a certain color of opponent's choice?

When converted, Saul always becomes Paul, a multi-color hero.

BUT if paul is converted back to evil he becomes evil paul, not saul again. So if you convert him, then make him an ec, THEN make him a hero, he'd be single color.

...yeah, because I'm sure that happens SO often.  ;)

I don't get it. A converted Saul always becomes multi-colored Paul.

I realize what you are suggesting, but the REG says this:

Instant Abilities -> Convert -> How to Use

Evil Characters may only be converted to Hero brigade colors (i.e., blue, green, purple, red, silver, teal, white, and gold).  The only exception is Saul/Paul (as Saul), whose natural brigade color is multicolor when a Hero.

If it's an evil Paul, it won't be converted from Saul/Paul (as Saul) to Paul, but from Saul/Paul (as Paul) to Paul.

As the REG says, Paul's natural brigade color is multicolor.  Therefore, regardless how much you covert, he will always be a multi hero

Uriah's natural brigade color is Red. Doesn't mean you can't change that.

what if just as saul becomes paul when he is converted to a hero, paul becomes saul when converted to a EC?

But that's not what the card says. The card only specifies a one-way transition.

If it's an evil Paul, it won't be converted from Saul/Paul (as Saul) to Paul, but from Saul/Paul (as Paul) to Paul.

LOL! Oops!

I always thought that words in parentheses were optional reading...  ::)

I'd love to use Gold Shield on Paul...that'd just be evil.

Yes, if you ever got to use it, it would.  However, Built on the Rock solves all of these problems. =D

So, you convert Saul to Paul, Paul becomes a multi-color hero. If you convert Paul back to the dark side, is he a multi-color Evil Character?
