Title: Saint of Virtue/Spiritual Warefare
Post by: Cpt.Jaeger on November 29, 2010, 01:14:46 PM
Saint of Virtue/Coat of many Colors/Spiritual Warfare...

Saint of Virtue can keep Spiritual Warfare at end of turn for future pre-block ignore, right?

I don't think thats right. He can hold it, but it won't activate if the brigades don't match.

And SoV is a search ability, so stated by a reliable source. (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=24196.msg382105#msg382105)

if that's right, can a green hero band to him and use the spiritual warefare that's on him?

actually, based on the play-as, do i even need coat?

Read the thread I linked in my last post. You need to use TiR/Coat/Something. If you use Coat it won't activate on future turns. It doesn't matter if a green hero bands to him, it won't activate.

not sure I'm following....

your saying he can keep SP on him, but it won't activate without coat in battle?
if that's the case, what if i use a green hero to band him into battle, would it activate then?
Title: Re: Saint of Virtue/Spiritual Warefare
Post by: Minister Polarius on November 29, 2010, 02:59:22 PM
No. SoV needs to be Green and/or Silver for SW to activate on him. Banding won't help because the Enhancement is trying to activate on him.

Polarius is correct.

Meanwhile, I am not certain the Play As for Saint is correct as written.  To "place" a card is just to stick it in a location or on a person.  Saint is supposed to be able to use the Enhancements over and over as he enters battle (Spiritual Warfare is the odd man out because there is no color match on future turns).  "Place" does not allow new activations; "retain" (or alternately, "hold") is the term used for weapons or cards that behave like weapons.

I would try the previous suggestion of using Training in Righteousness. It takes time to set up, but that's why as a host that I make sure each Type 1 2-player game gets the full one hour time limit.  ;)

You stole my thunder. :)

Also, if Schaef says it isn't written correctly, what do we do?
My cousin's sick combo deck will be ruined!

i believe, as pol puts it, we are to disregard any play as disguised as errata.

You got it backwards, but yes, disregard any errata disguised as play-as.

Gold Shield is reserved for converting ET to purple so it can play AoCP preblock.

Real players use an evil convert on SoV first, then Holy Grail to make it purple again so it can still play AoCP.

^Thats a sweet combo, but I've never been able to pull it off. Heres another really awesome combo you can use:

Rescue with The Strong Angel.

Sheesh, what a noob. Combos require at least 2 cards. So, RA TSA, and then play Wings.

There's only one flaw in your play: TSA negates Wings.

I fail to see how TSA would not negate Wings.

You also seem to fail to see that none of the last 12 or so posts have been at all serious. Except the chapel incident, which constituted a serious lack of regard for both education and pastoral authority, and should lead to SomeKittens being banned/excommunicated. But other than that, TSA can only negate Wings if people play Wings. And no one would do that, so it's a moot point.

It actually already happened.  The problem is it seems to have been caught in a quantum entanglement, and the normal collapse seems to have resulted in a non-banned SomeKittens being observed by someone on the boards, thereby realizing the probability.

My seriousness has been the death of me once again.

Plus... One.

This thread is now about string theory. Discuss while I go try to find my 11-dimensional self.
