My opponent has Self-Control on a hero in territory.  He attacks with that hero and I block with Sadducees.  My initiative, I play Seek and Destroy and discard a hero in his territory.  Still my initiative, I play High Priest's Plot.  Can I discard a good card from opponent's hand? 

Self Control - Place on your clay or teal Hero: Protect your hand and deck from opponents' cards.

Seek and Destroy - If only one Hero is in battle, evil discard abilities gain regardless of protection. If used by a N.T. Evil Character, discard a Hero. Cannot be prevented.

High Priest's Plot - If used by a Sadducee, look at one opponent’s hand. Discard one good card in that hand. Cannot be negated if Judas Iscariot is in play.

The question I have is, can I look at my opponent's hand if they have Self-Control in play?  And if not, how do I discard a good card in their hand?

...yeah I had a brain fart, I get your question now.  I forgot it was a look THEN discard.

It says to discard a good card in "that hand," being the one that you looked at.  Since that hand is protected, you could not target it for look.  Since you could not target it for look, there is no "that hand" from which to discard.  So that part fizzles, and you don't get to discard some random card from it.

So no...it doesn't work like that...though RDT's case works and is really, really funny, so there's that.
