Game In Progress - Isaiah's Call Question

Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver/Green • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Search deck or discard pile for Isaiah and put him in play. Place on Isaiah: While in battle, Isaiah has Site access and negates Lost Souls, Sites and Evil Characters.

I attack with Seraph banded to Isaiah with Isaiah's call. If my opponent Martyrs my Isaiah pre-block, will his evil character abilities have an opportunity to activate?
-Joey

Yes. The negate only works when Isaiah is in battle with Isaiah's call on him.

Yes. The negate only works when Isaiah is in battle with Isaiah's call on him.
But wouldn't Isaiah/Isaiah's call special ability activate before he is blocked but after the battle challenge/rescue attempt occurs, or am I confused and this is taking place before the attackers are stated.

Isaiah's Call only makes Isaiah negate while he is in battle, so if you remove him from battle, he stops negating.

This.

If you somehow discarded Isaiah's Call without discarding Isaiah, then banded another EC in or something, that EC's ability would be negated, because Isaiah is still in battle.

I'm pretty sure Place: abilities turn off when they're no longer placed on a valid target, actually.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I agree. Remember, the colon means "while this card remains".

I could be wrong, but my assumption is that the ability would remain active since it hasn't been/can't be negated until the end of the phase.

You are correct, and the placed card continues to work. However, it's SA is contingent on "while placed on," so it simply turns itself off. It's similar to MMoJ. She says "If TGT is in play, CBN." If TGT is not play, her SA is still active and working, but the condition is not being met so that part of her SA is not working.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
