Jericho's ability:
If opponent does not have a good Priest in play at start of a rescue attempt at this Site, you may draw a card or reveal opponent’s hand.
When AutO enters battle, if Jericho is occupied, then the battle is a Rescue Attempt that includes the soul in the site as the target (in T1 without rescuer's choice). Once the exchange is made, it is either a Battle Challenge (if no souls are available that can be rescued by Gideon) or an RA for souls that are not including the one in Jericho (unless there is another site access ability at play). By this logic, the ability on Jericho is automatically triggered
but waiting to resolve until all hero abilities complete once AutO enters battle, and should complete once all abilities are done since it 'began as a rescue attempt at the site'.
However, we also have
the ruling from
Hidden Treasures that if you begin a battle with a lone prophet and then band to another, or you start with Rachel and exchange to Joseph, or any other number of scenarios that are not "just one prophet enters battle and ONLY one prophet stays in battle" which is how "begins a battle" has been defined, then you cannot HT.
There is fuzzy wording on this card. If I started a battle with a character without access, and souls were available to rescue outside of the site, and banded to one that
did have access, then
technically that other character was not there at the 'start' of the rescue attempt and the ability would not complete.
However, I would posit that this is a similar wording to "begins a battle" due to the fact that automatic triggers, like Jericho, cannot insert themselves between other abilities. Therefore, while it is triggered as AutO is presented, it is still checking (like HT) up until the point that it can complete, or after all hero abilities have completed.
If by the time it can activate the condition is false, it cannot activate. Alternatively, if it began as false but became true through the course of hero abilities being activated (such as a site access ability being added), then it would activate. That would be my ruling.
TL;DR: It is triggered, but by the time it can complete the condition is false, so it cannot allow you to draw or reveal.
