Title: Restrict, Prevent, Protect - Need examples of each
Post by: browarod on June 28, 2011, 05:51:51 PM
So I'm working on a cheat sheet with updated rulings/definitions/stuff for people to use until the new REG comes out, and the first thing I'm tackling is explaining restrict vs. protect vs. prevent.

I have the definitions down (what each ability targets, etc.) but I'm having trouble finding examples of some of them. Are there any abilities classified as prevents that don't physically say "prevent" on them?

Also, are there any older cards that say "prevent" but are really protects/restricts, or vice versa with any of the three?

I think Restrict as an ability was scrapped.

Jtower is a protect.
Wool Fleece is a prevent.

I had not heard this, is this true?

I think it's just not an ability until a new REG comes out. Take that as you will.

Restrict is most definitely an ability. :P
