Had this come up in a game and need clarification.
I set-aside my opponent's Reuben and another character, both of whom went to the discard pile a bit later via my Darius' Decree discard. A time later, he does a rescue and has Chariots of Fire up and running. After the battle he shuffles in Reuben and the other character via CoF. On his next turn he drew Reuben and the other character, then did a rescue attempt with Reuben. I block with Persian Presidents.
Based upon Persian Presidents' special ability, would Reuben be captured, or would he be considered "reset" and not counted as previously being set-aside since he hit the discard pile then was shuffled into deck, then brought back into play? When a card hits the discard pile or deck it's returned to face-value (identifiers, numbers, brigades, abilities, etc.) and "resets." Does this also count for this situation in which Reuben, at one point in the game, was set-aside but went through the DC pile then deck before being returned to play? I feel that he would be reset and that PP's ability is more for when a card immediately returns to play from being set-aside.
Persian Presidents: "Capture a Hero that was or is set-aside. Cannot be negated if Lion's Den is in play."
