I wasn't around, but I've been told that there used to be a rule where you could activate your Asherah Pole in your opponent's Solomon's Temple.
The Redemption definition of "Temple Artifact" is only those permanent, God-sanctioned furnishings. If Phinehas had happened to be eating a burrito one day in the outer court, Burrito Grande would not suddenly become a Temple Artifact.
