1. Yes, you can make two of your own ECs fight each other, but if you do, you have to choose one for your opponent to control. (Psst, give him the higher numbered one.)2. Yes.3. Your opponent gets a chance to negate the side battle, and if he does, everything played in the side battle is indirectly negated. However, Haman's Plot in particular is CBN, so there's nothing he can do if you play that in the side battle to discard his main character.
Follow up question:Can you select their evil character in the initial battle, to fight one of your own characters and consequently do you get to choose which character each player controls?

Follow up questions:Lets say I have besieged activated and I use Cup of Wrath. I band two evil characters together in the side battle against a 3rd evil character, do I get to take down a fortress as there are 3 evil characters in battle?
Am I to understand: The discard does not happen till after the resolution of the initial battle?
Quote from: theselfevident on August 26, 2011, 01:04:47 PMAm I to understand: The discard does not happen till after the resolution of the initial battle?Um, no.... Special abilities are carried out as soon as the ability activates (with the exception that removal from battle (capture, discard, remove from game, etc.) generally waits to see if the opponent is going to interrupt/negate it). Haman's Plot would discard all 3 characters as soon as you finished targeting them.
Nope. If Haman's Plot was able to be interrupted, then yes, but since it CBN, then anything that it targets is discarded immediately and is unable to play anything.
Scenario:I play cup of wrath. I have Besieged activated. I select my Gomer to fight Covenant Breakers. I band Gomer to Haman (promo) I set 3 of my opponents hero's aside, and discard one of their OT Fortresses, then play Haman's plot and discard whatever evil Characters (up to 3) in the initial battle. The side battle ends, a huge potential of a rescued lost soul, and there's no consequence to me other than ripping my Haman's Plot?
