Is there a resolution to that that has been posted anywhere?

Not so much, though it does seem that there is more support for your position on it than not.  I am firmly opposed, saying that Characters and Enhancements activated in battle, if prevented, do not suddenly activate later in the battle.  You get in infinite loops otherwise, and questions on activation if several 'ongoing' abilities suddenly all trigger at the same time because they were prevented when entering.

There is no reason that I see for cards that activate once to be able to reactivate if their prevention is negated.  Cards like forts, sites, arts, and TC characters in territory activate constantly, so they would simply activate now that the prevention is over.  Cards like Enhancements and Characters only activate one time, and if they are prevented, they should not reactivate.

My contention is that the delineation should not be card type, but rather ability type. It makes the most sense to me, but I can certainly understand the opposing view.

I think that False Prophet should be a magician for two reasons.
1.) He summoned Demons- "13 Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet."
2.) He performed signs for The Beast- "But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur."
Both of these references are from Revelation. the first is from ch. 16 and the second is ch. 19.

Thanks for doing to research on this. The False Prophet is indeed a magician and will have that identifier in the next printing of the Early Church set.
