PW= Potiphar's Wife SA:  When Character defeats a male Hero in the field of Battle , The Hero is take prisoner and placed in your opponent's LOB and treated as a Lost Soul.

Failed Objective SA: Discard all Evil Characters in battle. All Lost Souls are protected from being rescued by Heroes this turn.

Egyptian Wise men: May Band to any Egyptian EC

1. If Potiphar's Wife defeats 2 male heroes in battle , does the player that successfully blocked get to choose which one is captured or is both captured?

2. If a player , played Failed Objective on Potiphar's Wife , can her SA still activate?

3. If Egyptian Wise men banded to PW and a battle winner enhancement (defeating the last hero in battle and successfully blocking) was played on Egyptian Wise men , does her SA activate?

4. If PW was in a side battle and plays an enhancement that targets a hero in the original battle is the Hero captured?

5. If PW was in battle with 2 Heroes and plays a discard a hero in battle enhancement and targets one hero in battle , does that certain hero get discarded or captured?

1. Each time she defeats a male her ability triggers, so she would capture both.
2. I don't believe so. She's no longer in battle when FO completes so her ability does not trigger.
3. I don't believe so. Since the special ability defeating the character originated outside of PW I don't think she triggers. Not 100% sure on this one.
4. Yes. She specifies "field of battle" which includes all current battles (except if they're set aside, like with Ambush the City).
5. As long as the hero is male he would be captured. PW, I believe, is effectively an instead: When she defeats a male she captures him to opponent's LoB instead.

For 3, I believe it would trigger. I could be wrong, but I believe an evil character defeats a hero when it is in battle and the battle ends with evil winning by stalemate, numbers, ignore or removal, and is irrespective of the character the enhancement was played on.

I believe the ruling was that PW must be the one to win the battle for her ability to activate. Unless she played the enhancement her ability won't activate. More in depth on the FAQ I believe.

For number 2 her ability would activate. In this post defeated is defined.

Potiphar's Wife may be defeating the Hero with Failed Objective, but her ability can't trigger if she's not in play. If you discard my Herod's Temple during battle and then discard my NT human, I can't use Herod's Temple to instead the discard because it's not in play, even if it was before.

Also, please edit your posts if you have additional things to add, don't post a separate time.

You're probably right, but I would argue that her ability was ongoing and since it wasn't negated it would still activate.

Her ability is a triggered instant ability, I don't think anything about it is ongoing.

There have been some great questions posted of late, I love it!

First, on the latest debate, browarod is right that she has a triggered ability, which unless I am mistaken should only be activating while she is still in play.  Though there is another thread making me question that.  Take the discussion there!

On the actual questions, I agree with browarod on all of them (pending the triggered one).

Posting from the Discarding cards with triggered abilities in the battle phase since I was asked to keep it here . . .
Note that both definitions there of triggered abilities indicate that they are ongoing abilities.  I'm not sure if you are still saying that triggers are not ongoing.  They have to be, otherwise you couldn't use them.
In this case I would argue that I was right, since the ability was ongoing and not negated, and even though she is no longer in play her ability activates.
Not that anybody is keeping track . . .  ;)

3. If Egyptian Wise men banded to PW and a battle winner enhancement (defeating the last hero in battle and successfully blocking) was played on Egyptian Wise men , does her SA activate?

Her ability says she has to be the one to defeat the male so she wouldn't capture in this case. Simply move the enhancement slightly to the right (or left) when playing and play it on PW instead to avoid this problem. I can't think of anything that would work for wise men that wouldn't also work for PW...
Just one more thing...
