Quick question about first strike.

What happens if two characters, one on each side, has first strike?

1a) For instance, what if my opponent attacks with a first striking hero, then I block with, for instance, Abner, who has first strike?

1b) Additionally, what if my opponent attacks with a non-first striking hero, then I block with Abner (who has first strike), then my opponent plays a card like Godspeed to give his attacking hero first strike?

In these cases, do we compare numbers like normal (as if no one had first strike), or does the first character who had first strike get to strike first?

1c) Also, does first strike stack? For instance, if my opponent blocks with a first striking hero, then I block with Abner, then he plays Godspeed, does his character now have "two first strikes" which overcomes my one first strike and now allows him to strike first?

Thanks!

1c, I think that first strike and adding another one will just be using your first strike then playing another card. I might be rong though.
I quite video games...it was the worst 15 minutes of my life.

Unlike in Magic, first striking characters don't just cancel each other out by both having it.
In Redemption, whichever character had the ability first (usually the hero) gets to have it.

1a. Abner doesn't get to use his first strike ability.
1b. Godspeed will not give the hero first strike.
1c. Nope. First one in is the only one that matters.

The 10th edition rulebook actually explains this pretty well, so take a look at that if you're still unsure.

Follow up question:
Rome gives all emperors first strike. Does that take effect before battle. E.g., if Mathew Levi is blocked by Emperor Nero with Rome in play, who gets it? Matthew Levi because he was in battle first? Or emperor nero because Rome was in play first?

from the REG:

•      If more than one character in battle have first strike, the first one in battle uses the special ability.

The REG quote above answers this.  Whoever is in battle 1st gets it.

That would make sense, because even if Rome gave the emperor first strike outside of battle, the hero with first strike would still be the first character in battle with first strike.

Technically speaking, Abner has the ability outside of battle if he's entered battle before.

Character abilities are only active in battle unless otherwise specified (Esther, Aaron).

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
