Questions that Jonathan Pequinot wanted to ask...

Question 1:

Peter's Curse (Di)
Type: Curse • Brigade: Black/Gray • Ability: 3 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Place on a Hero or good Fortress: Negate that card's special ability. When you play a good Dominant, discard this Curse. Cannot be negated.

Musicians' Chambers (RA)
Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Your Musicians may use Enhancements from here as if played from hand, regardless of brigade. • Play As: Your Musicians may use other Enhancements from here as if played from hand, regardless of brigade. Musicians' Chambers may hold any number of good Enhancements involving music. • Identifiers: Play to territory

If Musicians chambers is negate, do the enhancements
A- get discarded
B -Stay in MC and you are unable to remove them or put more in (same as Storehouse)
C - You can remove them during upkeep phase (same as putting characters out of other fortresses) you just cannot play them in battle from MC.

We sided with B but found that there seemed to be a strong argument for C because unlike Storehouse, the ability to hold cards is found in the identifier not in the SA.  So the ability to hold enhancements does not seem to be negated but the ability for musicians to play them in battle is negated

Question 2:  Can by the numbers characters negate territory class enhancements?  Not sure why this question is here if it is played in battle I am sure it can, but if it is played in territory then I am sure that it cannot.  Perhaps Jonathan Pequinot can enlighten us as to the specifics of this situation

1. I would assume it works the same way as store house
2. BTN only negates cards in (or played during) the current battle
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

The REG incorrectly lists MC as having a Play As where no Play As is needed.

"Holds" is an identifier and as such cannot be negated. Therefore you can still place enhancements and take enhancements off MC even if it is negated, so the answer is C.

Speaking of Storehouse, we might need to evaluate the REG entry for that also...

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I knew I left that paper at the tournament yesterday!  I tried calling you guys about those questions but I think you were all too busy playing to answer.  thx Matt for getting it.

For MC, can you take out just one enhancement during prep phase or all of them?  You can also still put more enhancements in, right?

For the 2nd question, if a territory class enhancement is played on a previous turn (like a-bomb), then what can negate it?

I would guess that any ability that targets any enhancement or all enhancements in play would work to negate it.  Why would cards like Moses or Midianites Attack, etc. not negate it?

If something is played on a previous turn it cannot be negate, but it can be discarded.  If it is discarded, then when it moves to the next phase, it is not there to reactivate so it is effectively negated.  So any enhancement or covenant such as covenant of Noah can discard Abom and while it will stay active for that phase (say battle phase) it will not be active during any subsequent phase.  Also BTN defaults to the field of battle.

I also am interested in Musicians chambers.  It sounds like you can take out or place in as many enhancements as you want during the upkeep phase

That is not true. The placing of the enhancement cannot be negated, but the effect on the card itself is perfectly negate-able (unless of course it gives itself CBN status).

browarod is correct.  The placement cannot be negated after the phase in which the enhancement was placed.  But the card can still be negated (assuming it isn't CBN/CBI).

So you can use Covenant with Noah to negate Abom after the phase it was placed, except for the "Place in a territory" part, which would be CBN by then.  Abom would be negated for one phase (in which you could draw to your heart's content), but it would reactivate in the next phase.
