Questions about SA activation

1.  Are S.A.s activated the moment a hero is put into the Battle Field regardless whether any other character is meeting them?

2.  If S.A.s are activated the moment a hero is put into the Battle Field, does that mean I could put Kira out in the battle field, and remove a lost soul enhancement?  Or Arianna and prevent any loss of cards from my hand or discard pile until it was my turn again whether or not someone met my battle challenge or rescue attempt?  Or Gabriel and take any card I wanted from their draw pile?  Or Ethiopian Treasurer and play Authority of Christ?  Or Ananias and convert Saul to Paul whether or not I was met with a battle challenge?  Or Paladin and prevent any shuffling of souls until my turn again?

3.  In multiplayer games... is a dominant allowed to be played at any time?  And, if the artifact handkerchiefs is in play, then only when an opponent went to the battle field?

1. Yes, the hero's ability happens before an opponent is given a chance to defend.

2. Yes to all, it doesn't matter if you are blocked or not.  Note with the last ability that abilities only last until the end of the current phase.

3. The dominant can be played anytime (but note that abilities already played must complete - dominants don't interrupt abilities).  CM can be played while Handkerchiefs is active, and works normally everywhere (including battle) except territory.  In territory, the discard is just delayed until the artifact is deactivated.

A small correction on point 3.

Miraculus Handerchiefs actually has errata/play as:

Miraculous Handkerchiefs
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: All Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside areas cannot be discarded. Effects of enhancement cards, poisons, and diseases are delayed until Miraculous Handkerchiefs is removed. • Play As: Protect all Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside area from discard. Suspend the effects of ongoing abilities that have a negative effect on those Heroes until this card is deactivated

Because CM isn't an ongoing ability, it is indeed stopped by Handkerchiefs.

So if handkerchiefs is activated, it's impossible to stop the SA of Ethiopian Treasurer because as you are putting him out in the battle field his SA activates and completes regardless of a dominant being played?

You can stop E.T. by using the following cards:

Confusion of Mind
Wasting Disease
Darius's Decree (sorta)
Any placed evil enhancement that negates his ability.

All of the above examples are ongoing negates that will constantly negate E.T.s ability, even before you block.

Darius's Decree works in a sense because the opponent is not allowed to play any good enhancements when no evil character is in battle, so ET activates, but the player is not allowed to use the play-next.

Thank you... don't think anyone I know has those cards yet... nifty.  So, E.T. to AoC with Riblah up.  Now I've got to figure out how to get rid of Kingdoms of the World with Silver Brigade.

Yeah, ET + AoCP is like, one of the most known combos in the game, lol.

Does anyone in your area use protection fortresses such as HQ at Riblah?

Only me.  We each seem to have our forte.  I'm usually the one they are mad at with fortresses.  Like Name of the LORD which can't be discarded, and CoA, and Tartaros, Riblah, Jerusalem Tower, The Pit, and Spiritual Realm.  Another guy likes to band a million priests together, which since I just learned of Trap of the Devil fortress, I'm interested.  The other guy is the negate specialist, he has four million of them it seems.  Even his characters negate.

By protection forts, i mean the evil fortresses that protect characters in your territory from discard, capture, conversion, etc.

You mean like Spiritual Realm - protects demons from capture, and Riblah which protects ECs from discard?  Before a friend brought a AoC to the table, I always used Spiritual Realm.  We never had AoC until recently.  But isn't Trap of the Devil a protection fortress?  I mean, if you can't negate the evil enhancements isn't that protection?

*just looked at the card list... Assyrian Camp... my friend who collects priests expansions doesn't trade with my friend who collects kings expansions.  So.. nope, guess I'm the only one who has protection fortresses.

Assyrian Camp, Pharoah's throne room, HQ at riblah, High Priests Palace, House at Rimmon.... etc.

I consider S. Realm to be pretty useless, only card it stops that is commonly used is Women as Snares.

I didn't really know about a fortress that could protect until the AoC card came into our game.  I was trying to find some way to save my Panic Demons or whatever I used from AW expansion.  Tartaros was the only thing available, and I had to be the first to discard my own demons via Might of Angels, then use Admiral the only OT reference who would be sitting in The Pit to come out and call a demon from Tartaros.  The only other option was to put something like Red Dragon in The Darkness which I don't own right now, and pop him up to win battles via immunity while the negate OT SA artifact was up.  Seemed too risky to me, though I never actually tried it in a game... hence why I now have Riblah.  Before this, none of us even knew there were fortresses that could prevent discards.

After I did look up those fortresses you mentioned, I can now imagine a starter deck with Pharoah's throne room, lol.

TTotD is near useless. It's only good against Captain bands, since it grants EE's CBP, not CBN.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

TTotD + Leviathan is pretty much proof against any BTN situation for a crimson defense.

I wouldn't say that TTotD is totally useless, since I've started playing in ROOT, I've noticed quite a bit of big number negate all abilities banding, and TTotD would allow me to pick them off.
