Question about Emperors and First Strike

If you have a banding chain to an emperor, (say messenger of Satan and Archers of Kedar attatched to Emperor Galba) Does first strike apply only to the Emperor and enhancements connected to him or does first strike count the offense of everyone in the banding chain?  It can make a big difference in a FBTN Banding situation vs/ say Captain

Only emperors have first strike. So let's say you have Jacob + Captain (16/15) vs. T Beast + Galba (20/12), Galba survives and everyone else dies, and since not all the blockers were defeated, the defender wins.

Really?  I thought that you checked to see if the character with first strike could defeat the hero(es) on his own and if he couldn't first strike didn't really matter.

Wow that does not make sinse at all.  If captain and jacob are dead by first strike, how can the kill the terrifying beast?

I understand the idea that first strike doesnt apply to every one in battle (although it would be real nice if it did, and that would really boost first strike in game play)  but if the person with first strike can kill the opponents, how can the opponents (jake and captain) kill anyone else in battle?

First Strike:
Calculate all Numbers.
If Mutual Destruction, bFirstStrike = true
Else bFirstStrike = False

If bFirstStrike = true, side with First Strike is "winning"
Example, you have three Heroes, I have three ECs, one with FS, two without
Your three Heroes are dying, my two regular ECs are dying, my FS EC is NOT dying
Therefore, I have a live guy, you do not, so ECs are winning, Hero's turn to play.

REG Entry on First Strike

Quote
Each time players check for initiative and they determine that a character with first strike is not being defeated, initiative is granted to the player without the first strike special ability.

It has no bearing on whether the FS character can do anything on his own: I can't think of a situation off the top of my head where a character's strength/toughness is calculated individually, and if one exists, it's highly specialized.

If the total numbers favor the strength of the FS side (outright winning, mutual by numbers), they are winning (and the individual will survive).  If not (outright losing, stalemate, mutual by removal), play proceeds as normal.
