turn counting questions

1. If a card says set aside a character  for 2 turns ,could this mean "this character must be set a side for 2 full whole turns?"

like for example

 turn 1  (set aside character)

turn 2 (remains set aside)

turn 3 (remains set aside)

turn 4 (return to territory)

During your Upkeep phase (which is between Draw and Prep), you deal with counters on your cards, including cards in your set aside.

If your card is set-aside for X turns, you remove a counter from that card during each of your upkeep phases.  If there are no more counters on a card, you resolve, at that moment, for whatever happens when the turns are up (which returns cards from set-aside, or discards cards, or anything else paired with these turn counters).

This example will show how this works pretty well:

It is my Draw phase, and I draw the Shame lost soul.  I choose one hero from your territory and one from mine.  Now, during my Upkeep phase, I remove one of those counters.

Your turn, during your Upkeep, you remove one counter.

My next turn, on my Upkeep phase, the second counter is removed, and my hero returns to territory.

Your turn, during your Upkeep, the second counter is removed, and the hero returns to territory.

If I had drawn the Shame soul during any other phase that turn (such as off of a draw ability), then my hero would have to wait for the next two turns of mine to come back, because it needs two of my Upkeep phases.

Hopefully that makes sense.

1. So it is pretty much each upkeep?  Like if a card says set aside a hero for  2 turns , then the moment the 2nd counter is removed the hero comes back to territory?
                                                              Other questions

2. Also what if the pigs LS  (SA prevent all draw abilities except on heroes) was drawn during draw phase and then the Mustering for war (on return holder may draw 3 cards)  during upkeep phase was just returned does the holder not get to draw 3 cards?

3. What if 7 years of plenty was in play and the owner already used it 2 times but then on their 3rd turn the Pigs LS was put in play  ,are the other 5 turns of drawing are stopped by it?

1. Sorry, mislead you a tiny bit, when you have an ability that says "Set aside your heroes for X turns...on return, X," you do X during your Prep phase, and you decide when it happens in that phase.  The removal of the last counter in that Upkeep phase tells you that they are coming back that turn, is what I meant there.

2. The ruling I have come across is that the draw component must be prevented/negated when it is played to stop that component from working; if it comes into play afterwards, the draw on set-aside cards is still used.

3. 7 Years is not a set-aside card, so it is a bit different.  It will also be debated, I am sure, but this is my ruling:

Yes it would be stopped from that point on, as long as Pigs was active.  The only thing CBN on 7 Years is the 'place' ability, since that completed in a prior phase.  The draw reactivates every turn, and at the time of reactivation it is prevented, so the draw does not happen.

Also, it goes away once the last counter is removed.
