- My opponent Uses the COTH band chain. I have assyrias Tribute out. Can I block with my Assyrian, and use Assyrias Tribute to negate my opponents COTH band chain?

Artifacts are not negated by Captain of the Host, so blocking with an Assyrian + Assyria's Tribute negates all negatable hero abilities. Most banding, especially CoTH banding chains, is negatable, so yes, you could negate the banding chain.

Note that having Assyria's Tribute active counts as a use. You opponent should probably just wait two turns if they wish to use a Captain Band, since after the second turn of active (use), Assyria's Tribute is discard.

actually, CoTH bands are semi-harder to negate, since they'll negate lame anti-banding enhancements.

I wasn't referring to the degree of negatability, I was referring to the ability to be negated. As in, the TGT ladies band is not negatable with TGT out, but I can't think of any banding chain including CotH that can't be negated (except for Gathering I guess).

I am pretty positive. We had a super long argument about it awhile ago. People like myself were like "This card is useless if wesay that" and evil dictators (aka Schaef

Also, just to clarify as you said it would be too complicated, adding a single CBN band in a chain is not complicated at all.

Say I made a Rescue Attempt with Tribal Elder banded to Jake banded to Mike (Gathered) banded to Simeon (gold) banded to Captain of the Host. My opponent negates all of my heroes Special abilities. I would be left with Tribal elder and Simeon in battle. Tribal elder was the first person in the chain, so he stays, and Simeon was added to battle with a CBN ability, so he stays.

It's pretty simple.

Hmm, I'm wrong I guess, Just seems like the Band from one guy to another cannot be negated shouldn't be allowed to be negated.

It makes more sense if you think of band not like "these guys stick together this battle," but rather treat band like "add this guy to battle."

no I play assyrians so it is better.
i play with COTH too of course but oh well never run into that

I absolutely detest this ruling and think it is a ridiculous ruling for a very weakly used artifact.
