Protection vs. Immunity

Let's say someone makes a rescue attempt with Thaddeus, and he has 11 good Disciples in play. I block with a gray EC and play Balaam's Disobedience. Does the immunity that BD should give me kick in, or is my EC protected from targeting himself with the immunity?

Thaddeus (Di)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 8 / 8 • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect all cards in play, set-aside area, Artifact piles, hands, and decks from Evil Characters with toughness X or less. Cannot be interrupted. • Identifiers: NT Male Human, Disciple • Verse: Matthew 10:2-3 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

Balaam's Disobedience (Pa)

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: 2 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Evil Character is immune to human Heroes unless an angel is in Battle. This ability cannot be negated. • Identifiers: OT, Depicts a Weapon, False Religious Practice • Verse: Numbers 22:27-28 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Common)

It has been ruled that Thaddeus does not protect evil characters from being immune.  So the immunity works.

Well, I know that that works for Red Dragon (who has the SA on him already). Does that also include playing an enhancement that makes the EC immune then?

Source please?  I thought it had been ruled otherwise.

Actually source here.  It has been Ruled otherwise, Thaddeus protects Red Dragon from his own immunity.  Now the question is is an Enhancement played on an EC considred an action by the EC?

Don't have time to look right now, but it's in the "Best way to beat Thad" conversation in Strategies, I think.  Goliath's Armor was discussed as a way to CBN block Thad, and Bryon or some other Elder said that Thad doesn't stop ECs from being immune.

Then we have conflicting rulings from the elders.  Let me go check that thread.

Having reread that thread I can find no evidence that it was Ruled that Thaddeus does not stop an EC from being Immune to itself.  So I still would say no.

It's not on that thread. It's a more recent ruling on Protect and Immunity that makes it impossible to be protected from or immune to yourself.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Hey- I ruled it right, and with the plethora of pharisee defenses running around, this would be a great addition to any grey deck, especially against Disciples!

Just So it is clear to us Senior citizens will someone restate the correct answer to this scenerio. Thadeus RA. Red Dragon blocks. My understanding is that regardless of the disciples in the rescurers territory, Red Dragon is immune to Thad. Correct?

Yeah, I am kind of confused as well.  Can Thadd protect an EC from his/her own immunity?  Does it make a difference if it is via SA on the character or granted by an enhancement?

Pol is correct.  Characters cannot be immune to, or protected from, themselves.

To answer the original question, Balaam's Disobedience works against Thad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that ruling required after the amazing ANB deck that showed up at Natz last year?
